Subscriptions, cancellation and refunds
One subscription covers the website and the Android app, because both read the same Kilemat account.

What Premium includes
Every story, conversation, news article and scene; the whole writing course; and the same access in the app at no extra cost.
What stays free without a subscription: the first two stories in each category, the first two conversations, the first writing unit, the whole alphabet, the vocabulary tools and the review queue.
Where you bought it decides everything
Kilemat is not the merchant. The payment is taken by whoever you bought from, and that is who you cancel with and who handles a refund.
- In the Android app — Google Play took the payment. Cancel in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions, or at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- On this website — the payment went through Stripe. Your management link is on your settings page, which reads it from the payment provider rather than storing it.
If you are not sure which, open Settings while signed in: it names the plan and where it is managed.
Renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price current at that time, until you cancel. The store tells you before a price changes.
Cancelling
Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end the period you have already paid for: your Premium access continues until that period runs out, and then the account returns to the free tier with all of your progress intact.
Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. Your saved words, scores, streak and reading history stay exactly as they are; the locked content simply locks again.
Refunds
Refunds are issued by whoever took the payment, because only they can return it.
- Google Play — request a refund through the Play Store order history, or through Google Play support.
- A website purchase — write to us through the contact form with the email address you paid with.
Statutory consumer rights, including any right of withdrawal for digital content where you live, apply on top of the store's own policy.
Restoring a purchase
Restoring reads a receipt from the store, so it happens in the app: open Settings there and use Restore purchases. The website has no receipt to read, which is why it offers a refresh instead — it re-asks the payment provider what you are entitled to.
If you bought on your phone and the website still shows Free, open Settings on the website and refresh. If it still disagrees, contact us with the email address on the account.
Deleting your account while subscribed
You can delete your account whether or not you have a subscription. Deleting removes your Kilemat data straight away — and it does not cancel the subscription, because only the store can do that.
So cancel first, then delete. If you delete first you will keep being charged, and there will be no Kilemat account connecting the payment to anything. See deleting your account.
Promo codes
A promo code is validated on the website but has to be spent in the Android app, because the discount is a Play Store offer rather than something Kilemat charges. Enter it in Settings on the website to check it, then complete the purchase in the app.
