Community Guidelines

• A display name or avatar that is abusive, sexual, hateful, or targets somebody's race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability.
• Pretending to be somebody else, including a real person, a company, or Kilemat itself.
• Using a display name to advertise, to link somewhere, or to contact people who have not asked to be contacted.
• Repeated friend requests to somebody who has declined, or using requests to get attention rather than to be friends.
• Anything sexual involving a minor. This is reported to the authorities and the account is removed.

New accounts are visible to friends only and do not appear on the public leaderboard. You can make your profile public, or private, and you can join or leave the leaderboard, at any time in your privacy settings.

Someone with a friends-only profile is still findable by search, because that is how a friend request starts. What is withheld is the profile itself, not the existence of the account.

You can block any account. A block is symmetric and immediate: neither of you sees the other in search, on a leaderboard, on a profile, or in a friend request. The blocked person is not told.

Blocking removes an existing friendship rather than pausing it, and unblocking does not bring it back. Nothing about anybody's learning progress, streak or saved words is affected on either side.

You can report an account from its profile, choosing a reason and adding detail if you want to. A report is read by a moderator, who marks it reviewed, actioned or dismissed.

Reporting somebody does not tell them. Reporting the same account twice updates your existing report rather than filing a second one.

A report is not the same as a block. If you do not want to see somebody, block them — that takes effect immediately and does not wait for a review.

Depending on what is found: nothing, a change forced on a display name or avatar, the loss of social features, or the removal of the account. Something illegal is reported to the authorities.

If your account is actioned and you think it was wrong, reply through the contact form and a person will look at it again.
